Diwali, the festival of lights brings home happiness to one and all. However, apart from Indians celebrating it, the festival seems to have travelled across places and world leaders have celebrated it too. It is a proud moment for India as our culture is being diversly accepted and embraced!

Donald Trump celebrated Diwali in the White House to symbolise the bond he cherishes with our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He celebrated the festival of lights along with senior Indian-American members of the administration. Much to everyone’s surprise, his daughter, Ivanka Trump also joined him during the celebrations!
Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau joined the Diwali celebrations in Ottawa along with some leaders like Vikas Swarup, India’s High commissioner. A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the joint India-Canada stamps. He was seen in a fabulous Indian Sherwani, lighting the lamp. Justin Trudeau even wished all his followers on Twitter.
Back in 2013, Britain Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife celebrated the festival in Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London. A typical Indian style celebration wherein the couple took the blessings from the priest and even adorned their forehead with a ‘tika.’
This is not the first time White house has lit a diya as back in 2009, Barack Obama celebrated Diwali and hoped that his successors would continue this as a ritual.
This year, Amitabh Bachchan’s residence was filled with many Bollywood stars who gathered to celebrate Diwali. Actors like Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Mika Singh, Mukesh and Neeta Ambani, Jackie and Tiger Shroff made it to the Diwali Bash while Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan played the perfect hosts.
Our favourite Indian cricketer, Dhoni also celebrated Diwali with his wife and baby girl, Ziva back in 2016. Sakshi uploaded the pictures to her Instagram account and it was too adorable. Not just Indian cricketers but even West Indies cricketer, Kieron Pollard had celebrated Diwali with his kids, all dressed up in Indian attires.
