Athlete with dwarfism plays hardcore badminton—but wait till you see these skills!

Born with a form of dwarfism known as achondroplasia, India native Mark Dharmai is now 32-years old but only stands at 4 feet, 2 inches tall.

He’s over a foot shorter than the average man, and the genetic condition that stunted his height has also left him with severely shortened arms and legs. As a son of a fisherman from Mumbai, Dharmai certainly didn’t have it easy—not growing up, and not even now.

Despite his physical differences, though, the young man knew that he could do anything he wanted to do. Armed with nothing but determination to succeed, he’s embarked on an incredible journey over the course of his life—and now, you won’t believe how wildly successful he is as a professional badminton player!

Since going pro to represent India, Dharmai has competed at both the national and international level as a paralympic athlete. He boasts over 50 medals from tournaments worldwide, where he shows off his impressive athletic skill and a determination that people could learn quite a lot from no matter their situation in life.

His family certainly didn’t grow up with money, given his father’s occupation; the renowned champion and record-breaker at his craft explained that things were tough financially even when he was still in school.

Despite that, he fell in love with sports while playing hockey and football in school as young as six or eight, and the support his mother provided helped inspire him to follow his dreams!
